About Kay (Kyung-nim) Yun
Brief-Bio
After
studying for two years at Seoul National University, Kyung-nim Yun
transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed
her Bachelor of Arts degree. Yun continued her studies and earned her
Masters of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Following
three years of working as a Visual Information Specialist and graphic
designer at the Executive Office of the President of the United States,
Yun began traveling to Italy to further her education in the
arts. While in Italy she studied under Giovanni Colacicchi, the former
Director of the Accademica di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy.
As an
invited professor, Yun taught both undergraduate and graduate classes
in art, design, and printmaking at both Duksung Women’s University,
Seoul Korea and the Yongsan campus of Central Texas College.
In
2006, Yun created a mosaic of Santa Chiara (St. Clare), which is now on
permanent display at the Santa Chiara Monastery in Anagni, Italy.
Yun
continues to paint actively – creating still lifes, landscapes and
murals for churches in Korea and the United States, and also undertaking
commissions for portraits, pets and houses.
